WOW! What a treat! Made especially for us by well-known Central Otago winemaker, Paul Pujol, this is single vineyard Pinot Noir - kick-ass, got to have plenty of it, won’t break the bank, type of wine. Deeply coloured, velvet textured, characteristically true, and seriously affordable.
"This is ripe, bright and fragrant on the nose displaying dark cherry, plum and floral notes with a hint of spice complexity. The palate is beautifully weighted and finely textured with excellent fruit purity, backed by delicate, fine tannins. Lovely poise and refinement. At its best: now to 2019. July 2015." "Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim and youthful in appearance. The nose is tightly bound and finely proportioned with aromas of dark red berry and black cherry fruit entwined with soft earthy and minerally notes, unfolding nuances of pepper and violet florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate features tightly concentrated fruit flavours of dark red berry and cherry fruit with red liquorice and plum notes. The fruit is restrained in expression, but reveals violet florals and mineral elements in the glass. The wine follows a fine, grainy tannin line and the mouthfeel is fresh, enlivened by bright acidity. This carries to a light, firm, lingering finish. This is an elegant, taut, black and red fruited Pinot Noir with a light, firm finish. Match with poultry, pork and beef dishes over the next 3-4 years. A single vineyard wine from the Bendigo sub-region, the fruit indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in tank, 7 months with oak contact." Raymond Chan
