Description
"Without question this is the finest Pinot Gris made in this country” Paul Tudor, Master of Wine
“My top NZ Pinot Gris. An outstanding wine and bargain buy” Joelle Thomson
“This is as complex as NZ Pinot Gris gets ” Jo Burzynska
“Fermentation with wild yeasts in barrel has bestowed richness and complexity on this sumptuous gris. Ripe peach and honeyed characters are joined by toasty, spicy, nutty notes, cut by an underlying minerality and freshness.” Viva Top 50 Wines of 2015, The New Zealand Herald
Nutty dry whites that taste this good are rarely as affordable as this rich, full bodied Marlborough white, which was made from the seaside Rarangi Vineyard in Marlborough, where the grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed before the juice went straight to barrel for a wild yeast fermentation followed by 12 months aging in old (rather than new) oak. It is big, richly concentrated and bone dry; an outstanding wine and a bargain buy. Joelle Thomson
A unique, dry, fabulously mellow, mouth-filling Pinot Gris that is all about complex, nutty, secondary characteristics and rich mouth-texture that lasts in the glass. A superb food wine. Drink now -2017. Made from hand-harvested fruit, fermented in old barrels using natural yeasts and aged on yeast lees for over a year to add richness and complexity.

Good average Pinot Gris.

Not an impressive wine; lacked the substance expected from a Pinot Gris; tasted "woody".

Nice wine but colour and taste more like a Chardonnay.
