A concentrated wine from the Hawkes Bay which is dark and dense ruby in colour with purple highlights. New leather, coffee, and dark plums fill the glass. The palate displays flavours of blackberries, plums, chocolate and a hint of aromatic floral notes. A full and round palate structure is supported with silky tannins and well balanced acidity, interlaced with spicy oak and coffee.

Fruit for this wine was held cold for four days prior to ferment to help extract maximum flavour. It was aged in older oak until the right balance was achieved and then gently extracted and prepared to bottle.

Although this wine will cellar for at least 5 years from vintage date, it can also be enjoyed now while young.
A great food match with venison or beef steak.
