Description
More polished and layered, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Val de Dieu (75% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah aged in barrique and demi-muid), which was tasted out of barrel, possesses gorgeous creme de cassis, black raspberry, licorice, flowers and hints of sweet oak to go with a full-bodied, textured and decadent style on the palate. Layered, rich and with sweet tannin, it’s a big, rich effort that will need a handful of years in the cellar to fill in. It should drink beautifully through 2027. Drink 2016-2027. - Jeb Dunnuck – The Wine Advocate
