Description
"This is so easy drinking and so well priced. An ideal wine to please a crowd or enjoy everyday. Ripe pear, floral and nectarine aromas lead to a ripe and smooth palate with attractive fruit intensity, and finishes long and friendly. At its best: now to 2017." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2014.
Beautifully rounded flavours of crisp pear and citrus with a pinch of breadcrust. The finish shows well balanced acidity ensuring a refreshing mouth-feel. Well matched with an assortment of dishes including fresh fish, lightly spiced meats or a selection of cheese. At its best over the next two to three years.
The Echo was a 104 ft scow, rigged as a topsail schooner, used to transport goods in the early 1900s, from Marlborough’s coastal Wairau Bar, to the town of Blenheim by the way of the Opawa river. Todays the river meanders through Marlborough’s flourishing vineyards of the lower Wairau plain.
