"Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine on skins 12-14 days and aged 10 months in oak.  Very dark, black-red colour, near impenetrable at heart, with ruby-garnet hues on rim.  The nose is softly concentrated with well-packed and dense aromas of ripe black berry fruits infused with dusty, earthy notes and subtle layers of game, ink and tar, along with blackberry jam and olive nuances.  Medium-full bodied, soft mouthfilling flavours of black berried fruits, redcurrants, black ink, jam and tar form a complex sweet and savoury amalgam.  The mouthfeel is softly textured with fine tannin extraction, but enlivened by lacy, savoury acidity.  The wine flows with good acid vitality and energy carrying gamey black fruit flavours to a vibrant and delicately luscious finish.  This is a soft-textured, up-front, sweet-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine with savoury black fruit and game notes.  Serve with lamb, beef, and game meat dishes over the next 5-6 tears.  17.5+/20."
