"From an elevated site on a small gently sloping Waipara vineyard that was first planted in 1991. This is a signature Pinot Noir from the oldest vines. It’s an attractively-scented Pinot Noir with floral, violet, plum, liquorice and some savoury, ‘forest floor’ bottle development adding welcome complexity. A mellow wine that is drinking very well now" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Mar 2022
The 2019 Estate Pinot Noir is full of rich ruby hues. On the nose there is violets and forest floor with undertones of Indian spice. On the palate this wine has an abundance of black berry fruits, earthy undertones and fine grain tannins to finish.
This Pinot Noir comes from the oldest vines on the estate. Planted in 1991 on the Eastern sopes of Waipara Valley, the aged vines have truly tapped into the limestone depositis in the hills of Mountford Estate.

Drinking well and will probably improve further over the next couple of years. Top notch value for a quality aged wine.
