Awarded 4.5 Stars: Yvonne Lorkin

"Splendidly complex and refined, the wine shows nectarine, fig, nougat and roasted cashew characters with a hint of flinty overtone. The concentrated palate offers awesome weight and depth, combined with creamy texture and bright acidity, finishing superbly long and engaging. Gorgeously styled and composed. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2022

"Silken-textured chardonnay with white peach, nectarine, oyster shell and spicy oak supported by gentle acidity. A delicately luscious and ethereal wine that has been made with a light touch" Bob Campell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Jan 2022

"After a few minutes in glass the bouquet begins to unfold revealing aromas of cashew nut and fresh yellow peach, vanilla and nutty-wood spices. There’s complexity and youthfulness, familiarity and mineral, stony soil layers. Delicious on the palate with flavours that mirror the bouquet. A taut and very youthful wine with acidity and oak tannins creating foundation and mouthfeel. Fruit flavours mirror the bouquet with citrus then stone fruit followed by mineral and cashew nut oak. Plenty of acidity, flavour and complexity. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jan 2022

The wine is rich in the mouth yet remains fresh and vibrant thanks to a fine acid backbone. These qualities, combined with tangy stone fruit/citrus flavours, integrated spicy/toasty oak and a gently drying texture, results in a delicious palate with a salivating, lingering finish. A superb wine of balance, finesse and concentration that are the hallmarks of Trinity Hill Chardonnay.

Awarded 4.5 Stars: Yvonne Lorkin, Feb 2022

"Vibrant, fresh, bright and fruity bouquet of fresh red berries, plums and toasty wood spices. Boysenberry and Doris plums, black currant and kitchen spices of clove and vanilla. Dry with a moderate weight, a core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet and a youthful acid line adds crunch while the fine easy tannins add texture and length. A lovely wine, ready to drink from 2021 through 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2021

"Deep, full, ruby-red with a purple core, lighter purple on the rim. The nose is vibrant and gently full, with aromas of blackberries and plums underlying dusty cocoa. Medium-bodied, nuances of blackberries, plums have a slightly savoury edge, entwined with subtle spices and dark cocoa dusting. The wine has a smooth, powdery tannin grip, leaves a drying mouthfeel. Subtle notes of liquorice and dark herb linger to a black-fruited finish. This is a straightforward Merlot with ripe black fruit, liquorice, cocoa nuances on a soft herbal tannin grip. Match with veal and beef over the next 2-4 years. Fruit from Gimblett Gravels, 93% Merlot 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, destemmed to ferment with a high portion of whole berries, 13.9% alc, 4 weeks post-ferment maceration, aged 7 months in a combination of stainless steel and small French oak barrels" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Oct 2021

"The bright intense purpleness of the Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Merlot 2020 ($24) is the perfect tease to a rich, plum and blueberry-boosted, cocoa-crammed wine that has warmth and a lovely woolly texture to cuddle this meaty, Autumnal soupy sensation" Yvonne Lorkin, Feb 2022

Chocolate, plum, and blackberry aromas of Merlot have combined with the aromatic spice of oak aging to produce a fruit-dominant yet complex wine. Soft, ripe tannins make this wine serious yet eminently drinkable. We recommend moderately short-term cellaring (2-5 years).

Food Pairing: It can be enjoyed with a wide range of different foods, particularly lamb and beef.

1 x Trinity Hill The Trinity Hawke's Bay Red Blend 2021

Awarded Double Gold Medal & 98/100 Points: New Zealand International Wine Show 2021

Awarded 93/100 Points: Wine Folio, Feb 2022

This red is predominantly a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot adding further complexity and interest. Cherry/plum flavours and the suppleness of Merlot combine with the violet perfume and blackberry flavours of Cabernet Franc to produce a serious, yet eminently drinkable wine packed full of flavour and character. Ready to drink now but will reward short to medium-term cellaring (three to five years from harvest date).

Food Pairing: A versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or partnered with a wide range of different flavoured foods.

1 x Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2019

Awarded 98/100 Points & 5 Stars: Winestate Magazine, May 2021

Awarded Double Gold Medal & 98/100 Points: New Zealand International Wine Show 2021

Awarded 95/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021

Awarded 18.5+/20 Points & 5 Stars: Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Apr 2021

Awarded 96/100 Points: James Suckling, Feb 2021

Awarded 18/20 Points: Joelle Thompson. Feb 2021

"Wonderfully fruited and composed, the wine shows blackberry, sweet cherry, floral, warm spice and game characters on the nose. It's concentrated and plump offering terrific fruit power and persistency backed by loads of polished tannins, finishing impressively long and refined. At its best: 2023 to 2032" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021

"Deep, dark purple-ruby with depth, lighter on edge. The nose is mealy and gently full, packed with nuances of ripe dark plums, blackberries, melded with medicinal herbs, black peppercorns and smoked jerky. Full-bodied, fragrant aromas of plums, blackberries, along with violets, have an elegant core, followed by black peppercorns, and medicinal herbs lend a lengthy finish. The wine possesses bright, perfectly ripened dark fruit, fragrant and rounded; carefully extracted tannin added structure and mouthfeel. Lacy acidity flows with great energy along a minerally tannin line. This is an elegant Syrah with ripe black fruit, concentration and structure. Match with grilled lamb chops or venison over the next 6+ years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Apr 2021

The 2019 Syrah has a deep and youthful vibrant crimson colour. Wild raspberry, blueberry, cracked pepper and hints of vanilla bean show on the nose. Powerful and balanced ripe tannins give the wine great savoury structure. Oak plays a supporting role with the wine living on a pure fruit expression. This purity combined with refreshing natural acidity means there is potential for aging. Development of mineral, gamey characters will result from bottle-age.

Food Pairing: Great with red meat dishes but especially good with game, particularly with duck and venison.
