Description

  • Dark berries
  • Smoked wood
  • Spices
  • Soft & silky

"Wonderfully complex and engaging, this beautifully maturing pinot shows dark berry richness on the nose together with seductive notes of smoked wood, warm spice, thyme and dark mushroom. It’s concentrated and sophisticated on the palate with excellent depth and generosity, leading to a gracefully long silky finish" Sam Kim Wine Orbit, Nov 2019

"Deep ruby-red with a slight garnet hue, lighter on edge. This has a full, elegant yet powerful bouquet, with aromas of plum and dark cherry interweaved with violet, baking spices, dried sage and thyme, and earthy elements. Medium-full bodied, aromas of plum and dark cherry have a sweet core, enveloping baking spices, dried sage and thyme, violet, liquorice and earth. The fruit is succulent and plump, showing concentration and strength. Velvety tannin framed the palate in silk, supported by lively acidity, carries to a rich, long, elegant finish. This robust Pinot Noir possesses plush fruit, ample spice and herb, enriched by bottle age, earthy aromatics on a velvety, lively mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Review, Nov 2022

"Fermented with 30% whole bunches. Reasonably concentrated, flavoursome pinot noir with ripe plum, liquorice, five-spice and an interesting savoury and earthy dimension that I think might be the product of bottle age. A soft-textured, accessible wine that promises to develop greater complexity with further bottle age" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Mar 2020

Tankersley Estate Vineyard is nestled between the rocky outcrops of the Pisa mountain range and the shores of Lake Dunstan in Central Otago, New Zealand. The soils are some of the oldest in New Zealand, and they give this Pinot Noir its great density.

The Vineyard was established at the turn of this century and exclusively planted with Pinot Noir, to capture what Central Otago has become world-famous for.

A Pinot of superb rich flavours and dark berries that gets better with decantering. Ready to drink now as cellaring has been done for you! Top Pinot!

Great Central Pinot for the price! Showing good aging characteristics but not past its "use-by" yet.
