"Splendidly ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows dark and purple fruit notes with warm spice, floral and toasted nut characters. The palate delivers terrific fruit purity and intensity, combined with plump mouthfeel and silky tannins, finishing delightfully long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2020
"Organically certified sourcing. Some whole-bunch spiciness to the flavour spectrum and spike to the tannins; a gentle waft of reductive tension to the juicy palate, together with spot-on aromas of florals, nori and blue fruits. The finish, easy going and a little spicy. Not much to dislike" Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
A varietal and regional nose that is typically McLaren Vale. A distinct and vibrant nose of dark fruits with hints of chocolate and spice. Delicious Shiraz palate that shows off layers of dark fruit concentration, great weight and texture, a hint of complexing oak and a long, robust finish.
Sourced from 15 year old vineyards in the McLaren Vale from vineyards that see no herbicides or pesticides - the result is pure Shiraz fruit that sees just a small amount of irrigation.
This was a challenging year and so very much makes you think of Australia. It was a warmer vintage with only sporadic rains in some parts causing the berries to ripen sooner than prior years. Through great vineyard, water and canopy management the resultant fruit is bright and flavourful with a soft acidity. This is a vintage showing up front fruit flavours and perfect for drinking from the get-go.
Sourced from low yielding organic Shiraz vines primarily in McLaren flats (a cooler part of the Vale). After fermentation consigned to barrel for 6 months in 20% new French oak and the rest in older large format barrels. Quality fruit handled well like this will ensure comfortable cellaring for 5-10 years.
A premium Shiraz from one of Australia’s most lauded and loved regions – McLaren Vale. Winemaker Corey Ryan has made an organic Shiraz with 70% fruit sourced from the alluvial soils of McLaren Flats and 30% from Tatachilla that is known for its red, loamy soil. Hard to find premium organic Shiraz is hard to come by but this is a top shelf rendition.
Food Pairing: Pair it with lamb shanks.
