Description

  • French oak
  • Pineapple & nuts
  • Custard
  • Long, savoury finish

Medium straw with green hints. Tropical fruits such as pineapple and melon. Complexity is contributed equally by toasty oak notes and a custard/ cream aroma from the yeast contact during aging. The palate is full, rich and round. All of the aromatic notes follow through to the palate along with other flavour layers such as flowers, nuts and stone fruits. Sweetness and texture come from both the fruit and oak. The finish is long and savoury.

These wines are made in partnership with selected Hawke’s Bay growers. This range showcase the best qualities of the Hawke’s Bay wine region.

Most of the fruit was machine-picked in the early hours of the morning and tipped directly into the press. The grapes were gently pressed to extract only the fi nest juice. After 12 hours of settling the cloudy juice was transferred to French oak barrels-35% were new. Fermentation was undertaken with a combination of natural vineyard yeasts along with some inoculated yeasts. All barrels underwent malo-lactic fermentation. After 10 months of aging the barrels were blended and the wine bottled.

Food Pairing: Enjoy this wine with a wide range of poultry and seafood dishes.

This is a magnificent wine, quite the best Chardonnay I have tasted. It is excellent value at this price. Only thing I don't like is the name.

Not a bad drop and well priced. Good for a party. Not quite as tasty as some slightly more expensive wines.

D
Quite acidic with not a lot of “body” to it. (Our taste perhaps?)
