Description

  • Dry style
  • Honeydew melon
  • Cucumber & lime
  • Chalky acidity

"Wonderfully fruited and fabulously aromatic, showing kiwifruit, apricot, fresh fig and lemon zest characters on the nose. It's punchy and delectably expressed on the palate offering excellent fruit purity and intensity, backed by juicy acidity, offering excellent drinking. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2021

"Very pale lemon in colour with a silvery hue. Juicy, ripe lemon, green apple, crunchy gooseberry and underlying herbaceous aromas are bold and intense. Vibrant fruit flavours of gooseberry and citrus with a cleansing splash of acidity and a chalky mineral note of the long finish" Angie Atkinson, The Wine Writer

Pale straw in colour with a green hue, this Sauvignon Blanc has a complex nose of honeydew melon, paw paw, golden kiwifruit and a touch of elderflower. The zesty palate is packed full of blackcurrant, cucumber and lime flavours with a lick of salt. Good Structure, crunchy herbs and chalky acidity complete this lively wine.

Crops were down due to early spring frosts and a cold, wet flowering period. Summer was incredibly dry and this lead to an early harvest. The fruit quality was outstanding and wines from the 2021 vintage might just be exceptional. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to maximise fruit purity and varietal character. This is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which is approachable and delicious.

Food Pairing: Try with fresh seafood or light, seasonal salads.
