"Gorgeously ripe and fragrant, the bouquet shows blackcurrant, tapenade, roasted nut and dark spice aromas. It's equally appealing on the plate with excellent fruit intensity combined with fleshy texture and silky tannins, finishing long and delectable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021

Blackcurrant, plum and blackberry. There is also a mineral, sea-spray note. The palate is full bodied and rich with soft tannins and a long finish.

Toño (Ton Yo) is the familiar or nickname of Antonio in the Spanish language. Toño wines are a modern take on Spanish winemaking heritage, grown in the sunny Hawke’s Bay. Wines that are fun, delicious and reflect the Hawke’s Bay lifestyle.

A red blend of 75% Tempranillo and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Inland Gravels and Bridge Pa, Hawke's Bay.

Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were handpicked and de-stemmed into open top fermenters. After a five day cold soak, the ferment was allowed to warm up and progress without the addition of cultured yeast. Once pressed, the young wine spent 12 months in used oak barrels. All barrels were blended and bottled soon after.

Food Pairing: Cured or grilled meats.
