A key focus of Villa Maria is to be environmentally responsible and to operate using sustainable practices in order to protect the land for future generations. This Organic Rosé from the Hawkes Bay Soler Vineyard showcases summer provoking aromas of blood-orange, rosehip and watermelon. The palate is soft and moreish, finishing rich and dry.
The Soler Vineyard is situated on free draining gravel soils which is well suited to applying organic farming principles. The Merlot grapes are harvested in cool temperatures to protect the aromatics, gently pressed upon arrival at the winery and the resulting clear juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks using selected Biogro approved yeast strains. The wine is then left on its yeast lees for a closely monitored period of time to build palate weight without compromising freshness.
Food Pairing: Best served chilled and enjoyed on warm summer days with a fresh alfresco fare. Particularly perfect with smoked salmon and seafood.
