"It's fruit forward and elegantly complex, showing nectarine, fig and roasted nut characters with a hint of vanilla. The palate offers succulent fruit flavours and creamy mouthfeel, leading to a lovely silky tasty finish. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2021.
An alluring bouquet of ripe white peach with a hint of lemon curd and freshly baked biscuits. The creamy palate delivers fresh ripe stonefruit, with lemon zest and layers of pastry and a smooth balanced acidity. Medium bodied, it has a pleasant silkiness to the mouth feel and a long steely finish.
Grapes for this wine are from select vineyards in the Wairau and Southern valley of Marlborough.
Whalebone Chardonnay will continue to develop in bottle for a further 2-4 years from harvest.
Food Pairing: delicious on its own, or wonderfully paired with creamy chicken casserole and fresh crusty bread.

I didn’t want to rate this so highly ( which it truly deserves ), as I’m afraid there’s be a rush on it . This - and it’s cellar mate the Pinot noir - is fabulous for the price and would be just as fabulous at $25.
