"Flagship wine from a sloping limestone hillside and an old riverside slope overlooking the TukiTuki River. Dense, yet quite supple and accessible red with a ripe plum, raspberry, floral, violet, pepper and spicy oak flavours. Can be appreciated now but shows obvious cellaring potential" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Nov 2019
For all its ripeness, the wine has retained a vibrancy and great complexity on the nose. The palate is plush with typical violet, spice, black cherry and subtle white pepper notes. Supple chalky tannins provide a structure that promise time in bottle will be rewarded.
From the winemakers Trademark Syrah vineyards, planted on a sloping limestone hillside and an old riverside slope overlooking the TukiTuki River. Handpicked and all de-stemmed but not crushed into open top fermenters where it was hand plunged until pressing. Run to French oak barrels for 18 months rest in our cellars. Lightly egg-white fined before bottling.
