Description

  • French oak
  • Dark cherry & ripe plum
  • Vanilla & mocha
  • Silky tannins

"Attractively scented and reasonably deep-coloured, juicy pinot noir with rich, ripe plum, dark cherry, dark berry, anise and spice flavours. A mellow, fruit-forward and appealing wine that is deliciously drinkable now. Great value at this price" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"Splendidly ripe and perfumed, the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, sweet cherry, clove and toasted almond characters, followed by a supple palate that's rounded and soothing. The wine displays gorgeous ripe fruit flavours backed by silky tannins, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Deep, glossy, ruby red in clour. The wine has alluring aromas of black fruits, followed by hints of vanilla, mocha and cloves. Full and soft in the mouth with rounded, fine-grained tannins and a velvety texture.

The Combe Rocher (literally ‘rocky valley’) range is one of pure authenticity crafted from carefully selected terroirs, situated on high altitude slopes, with rocky soils. The terroir effect is very noticeable in this region due to the great variety of winegrowing microclimates that create an expression of the grape varieties that is unique. This specific Pinot is planted on calcareous marl vineyards with fantastic exposure to the sun.

Grapes are sorted and destemmed. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature, and the wine is punched down daily until fermentation is finished. A percentage of the wine is matured under the influence of French oak while the balance is kept in stainless steel to preserve the vibrant fruit characters.

Produced by the highly acclaimed LGI wines, awarded Best French Still Wine Producer at Berliner Wein Trophy in 2017, 2018 and 2019! Originally the brainchild of Alain Grignon, who had a vision of making affordable, classic French wines designed specifically for the international market. Now under the supervision of oenologist Xavier Roger.

Food Pairing: Great with mushroom dishes, aged cheese, grilled duck, chicken, pork and beef.
