Description

  • Off-dry style
  • Tropical fruit
  • Creamy mouthfeel
  • Balanced acidity

"Bright red apple with baking spice and almond biscuit – imagine a freshly baked, sugar-dusted apple pie. A wine with lovely weight and texture on the palate. The primary fruit present is matched with fantastic acid which ensures this wine glides seamlessly along the length of the palate, which has an unexpected twist of spice on the finish making this wine all the more memorable" Cuisine Magazine, Apr 2022

"Stylish and delectable at the same time, the wine shows apricot, Nashi pear, subtle spice and rich floral aromas on the nose. The palate delivers terrific fruit intensity combined with silky mouthfeel and refreshing acidity, leading to a lengthy expansive finish. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021

Predominantely soured from the iconic Taylors Pass and Seddon Vineyards, this Pinot Gris is a rich, textural and opulent wine with a creamy palate from spending extended time ageing on yeast lees. The exotic tropical fruit flavours are framed by a soft, yet balanced acidity and unctuous texture.

100% of the fruit is grown in the cooler, windier Awatere Valley, promoting slower ripening in the Autumn weather which helps concentrate Pinot Gris flavours and retain natural acidities.

Hand harvested at night whilst fruit is cool to protect aromatics. 39% natural fermentation in seasoned barriques, the balance fermented in stainless steel with textural  yeast strains. Resulting wines were left on their yeast lees for 5 months to build palate weight and creamy textures into the wine. Suitable for plant based diets.
