  • Seasoned oak
  • Blackcurrant & cassis
  • Chocolate & red florals
  • Supple tannins

"This is wonderfully ripe and immediately appealing on the nose showing cassis, spicy oak, thyme and subtle cocoa notes. The full-bodied palate is filled with delectable fruit flavours together with spicy nuances backed by loads of polished tannins, finishing impressively long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2021

"I am not quite sure where Little Giant get their Coonawarra fruit from for this single vineyard cabernet but this wine regularly punches well above its weight, and offers very good value. Bright deep ruby in colour, it shows the classic Coonawarra aromatic spectrum of fruit pastilles, cedar and mint which is all beautifully supported by classy oak. Balance is fantastic, and it is a feature of this wine. The palate is one for lovers of cabernet sauvignon with its linear style of bright fruits supported by a line of significant but fine tannins. Elegance and balance are here in spades which promises it will deliver delicious drinking over the medium term" Angus Hughson, Winepilot

Appears dark red with deep purple hues. Showing a lifted perfumed nose of blackcurrant and cassis fruit and followed by a chocolate oak, a hint of mint and enticing spice character. The palate shows dark berry fruit flavours upfront with hints of dried herbs and red florals. Supple varietal tannins provide a classical framework and weight to the wine which finishes with integrated fruit and an oak driving long finish.

After a rather low yielding 2017, the Limestone Coast was back on form after a relatively trouble-free vintage. A dry winter was followed by a cool spring and then a fiercely hot summer in most of South Australia. Coonawarra faired better than other regions with a crop that exceeded that of the previous year and the quality was top notch.

Sourced from two vineyards that were planted with one on black and the other on red soils of the famed Coonawarra. All the fruit was picked during the early morning to retain colour and flavour retention and then crushed and fermented for a period of up to 10 days. Following primary fermentation the wine was pressed off into a small parcel of new but mostly into older oak for malolactic fermentation and maturation where it was held for a period of 10 months prior to blending and bottling.

The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don’t let the size fool you, these are wines you’ll want to drink.

Food Pairing: Perfect with roast lamb and mint sauce.
