Description

  • French oak
  • Bright cherry
  • Velvety texture
  • Fresh finish

"Supple, savoury pinot noir with dried herb, floral, violet, spice, cherry and raspberry flavours. An appealing wine in a medium-bodied style, with a backbone of bright acidity. Ready to drink" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Aug 2020

"Delightfully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows dark cherry, raspberry, thyme, toasted nut and subtle mushroom characters. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and roundness, wonderfully supported by silky texture and fine-grained tannins, finishing persistent and very tasty. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2020

Nose of bright cherries, spice ad a hint of smoky oak. The palate is warm and inviting showing luscious red berry flavours, velvety texture and an elegant fresh finish.

The grapes used to make this wine were carefully selected from vineyard blocks with diverse terroir: alluvial river flats, limestone and clay loam. 2018 was one of the warmest seasons of the last 10 years and produced beautiful, healthy Pinot bunches with great flavour concentration. Extensive crop and canopy management at each vineyard was undertaken to ensure grapes attained full maturation.

Winemakers allowed the natural process of wild fermentaion to take the graes through to young wine before a gentle pressing to French oak barrels for 10 months ageing. The natural softening that takes place in barrel brings a soft and approachable texture to the wine. Bottled on estate with no fining.
