- Ripe berries
- Cocoa & roasted nut
- Polished tannins
"Offering wonderful fruit ripeness and perfume, the wine shows black/blueberry, clove, roasted nut and subtle dried herb notes on the nose. It's splendidly appealing on the palate with excellent fruit richness combined with fine texture and polished tannins, finishing long and very tasty. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2020
"Ripe cherry, cola, nuts and spice, with some sage and vanilla. It’s fleshy, cocoa tannin with a little extra grit, sweet cherry and dark plum flavour, a bit of coal dust and again the toast and sage to close. Hearty. Good BBQ offering" Gary Walsh, Dec 2020
A lovely rendition of Tempranillo on the nose fragrant with sweet spice and pepper backed up by the Garnacha that lends a juicyness. The palate is bright and expressive with a burst of mouth-filling ripe berry flavours. Tempranillo flavours of cherry cola and smoked spice flood the palate before supple tannins and subtle oak provide definition to the impressively long finish.
2019 was another successful vintage in the region, although yields were slightly down the quality was up. The timing of ripening was spot on ensuring even ripeness across the vines. Overall the wines will be long lived and show great expression of an auspicious vintage.
Totally de-stemmed with a short cold soak before a long, cool fermentation with daily pump - overs to achieve optimum fruit and colour. The core of the blend was aged in stainless steel before six months maturation in seasoned French and American oak. A component of up to twenty percent Rioja Tempranillo aged in French oak is added to the blend three months before bottling.
The vast, high and dry plains of Castilla la Mancha comprise over 50% of Spain’s vineyards. The ancient soils and high altitude ensures the richly flavoured fruit maintains structure and tannin. Vineyards planted on the slopes of mountain ranges in the north and north east add a degree of elegance to the wines.
Food Pairing: Pair with a meat-based paella with plenty of smoked paprika.

Much like the past vintage I tried from this wine . Good grunty dry red that does not need ageing, No oak helps. Very good value, Typical Spanish red that over delivers. Will calm down with age but why bother.
