Description

  • Dry style
  • Ripe pear & peach
  • Fresh grapefruit
  • Refreshing acidity

"I love the purity, precision and concentration in this powerful organic sauvignon blanc. Peach, guava, melon, saline and oyster-shell flavours are underpinned by taut, ripe acidity. A very attractive Sauvignon" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Nov 2020

"Powerful, precise and classic DP SB with a core of fresh citrus and tropical fruits, an abundance of fresh herbs, minerality and style. On the palate - silky, fresh, salivating and fruity. All the attributes displayed in the bouquet come alive on the palate leading to a lively and refreshing example, well made, lengthy and ready. best drinking from today and through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2020

Pale straw colour in the glass. Pure, citrus driven Sauvignon with subtle, riper tones of pear and white peach reflecting the warm and dry growing season. The palate bursts with fresh grapefruit and meyer lemons with juicy flavours and generous concentration and refreshing acidity. Drinks beautifully now or can comfortably be cellared for five years or more.

A warm growing season with very dry conditions between January and April with only 45mm falling (less than 30% of the average). A season which will be remembered for other reasons however, with a global pandemic affecting staffing movements and logistics but one where calm decision making and patience resulted in perfect ripening conditions, and a very rewarding season. One of the best the region has experienced in recent years.

Handpicked fruit is whole bunch pressed and cold settled before fermentation. A portion of this wine is fermented using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 4 months in stainless steel tanks then bottled without fining.

Food Pairing: The wine would sit comfortably alongside a dozen oysters shared with or without social distancing.

This is a lovely wine to drink, full of flavour, but too expensive to drink all the time.
