- Ripe cherry & plum
- Cinnamon & cloves
- Silky fine grained tannins
Bright ruby with purple highlights in the glass. Sunwarmed cherries, doris plums, spiced cinnamon and cloves with underlying savoury notes. A full and vibrant palate the wine reveals a concentrated and fruit forward core of fresh cherries and blackcurrants while balanced by warm supportive sweet vanilla oak and silky fine grain tannins before finishing an elegant balanced freshness. Enjoy now or cellar up to 8 years.
Sourced from New Zealands Pinot Noir capital, Central Otago. The vineyards are situated on Elevated glacial terraces with seams of greywacke, schist alluvium and overlying shallow Manuherikia fine sandy loam.
Handpicked fruit is gently destemmed and crushed to small format open top fermenters. A short 2-3 day cold soak to maximise colour and flavour extraction. The fruit was gently plunged during fermentation to release the fine berry fruits and spice characters before being gently pressed to new and seasoned French oak for 11 months further maturation before blending and bottling.
This Pinot Noir celebrates those born of gold, the opportunists, the chancers, the fiercely ungovernable pioneers that carved out a claim on the richest rivers in the world and the self imposed ‘law’s that controlled them.

Disappointed with this wine. Not a good pinot noir from Central Otago. Not much flavor and not value for money
Terry - 30/08/2021
I was a little disappointed in this wine. As a Central Otago I feel it was quite light. Also I noted it was ot bottled there. I think that can make a difference.
