Description

- Grapefruit
- Lemon zest
- Subtle sea salt
"It's fabulously fruited and instantly appealing on the nose showing passionfruit, kiwifruit, lemon zest and lime sorbet characters, followed by a wonderfully flavoursome palate that's bright and pristine. It's upfront and delectable with gorgeous fruit purity and vibrancy" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2020
"Bright, light pale-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is upfront, leaping with passionfruit, grapefruit and citrus zest; melded with green capsicum and lifted spices. Light-bodied with refreshing acidity flows with grapefruit, citrus zest, passionfruit; unfolding grassy, herbaceous nuances of capsicum. The acidity is lively with a kick of spice. The mouthfeel is light and soft with a subtle phenolic grip. This is an attractive Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, exhibits appealing citrus and passionfruit with underlying green herbaceous notes, flows with lively acidity and supported by a soft phenolic grip. Match with white fish and mussels over the next 2-3 years. Cool fermented to 13% alc, 2.5g/l RS" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jun 2020
Pale lemon colour in the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, blackcurrant bud and zesty lemon peel. An intense and weighty palate showing characterstics of blackcurrant, lemon zest with a salty mineral expression of the finish. The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc has an expressive and weighty palate, with intense aromas of grapefruit, black currant and a hint of sea salt.
Selected from a single vineyard in Marlborough. The 2019 vintage started with cool spring weather which extended the length of flowering, leading to open bunches. A long and hot growing season led to lower crop levels with increased intensity of expressive tropical characteristics. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, the fruit was continually monitored until a balance of flavour, acidity and physiological ripeness was reached.
Food Pairing: An ideal match with pan-fried scallops, soft Goat’s cheese or Marlborough mussels.
