Description

An award-winning collection of Kiwi Chardonnay that deserves a spot on the dinner table or at the bach this season.

Collection includes:

1 x The Landing Bay of Islands Chardonnay 2019

AWARDED 95/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Bob Campbell Master of Wine, Real Review

AWARDED 5 STARS: Winestate Magazine

"Rich, weighty chardonnay with grapefruit, citrus, white peach, toasted nut, root ginger, hazelnut, oyster-shell and spicy oak flavours. A quite intense and certainly very complex wine that is accessible now but will certainly benefit from at least moderate cellaring" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"This classy wine was estate-grown in Northland, hand-picked and fermented and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques.  Bright, light lemon/green, it is refined and full-bodied, with deep, vibrant peach and grapefruit flavours, mealy and toasty notes adding complexity, and a lingering finish.  A very age-worthy wine, it should be at its best 2023+" Winestate Magazine

Attractive citrus and stone fruit aromatics sit perfectly with a hint of nuttyspice. On the palate the wine has a full profile with more white stone fruit and spice. A racy stony minerality creates a lovely long finish with drying tannins that just beg for your glass to be filled again.

The 2019 Vintage has opened the window to just how great Northland Chardonnay from the site can be.

1 x Craggy Range Kidnappers Vineyard Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2019

AWARDED 94/100 POINTS: Gary Walsh

Pale lime to pale straw. Subtle, yes definitive aromas of lime zest and grapefruit pulp with hints of brioche and fresh cashews. Palate has saline acidity that carry the citrus notes from nose to mouth. The savoury complexity provides the perfect counter-point for a Chardonnay that truly reflects its maritime origins.

Food Pairing: Comté cheese, truffle pasta, smashed pea-pesto on freshly toasted sourdough.

Alc: 12.7%

1 x Summerhouse Marlborough Chardonnay 2018

Awarded 91/100 Points & 4.5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019

"Youthfully charming and delightfully expressed, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, rockmelon, nougat and vanilla characters with subtle roasted nut complexity on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is beautifully rounded and creamy. It is long and supple on the finish with gorgeous fruit intensity" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019

Golden in colour, this Chardonnay brings succulent yellow nectarine and honeydew melon aromas. The palate is rich and luscious in a lightly oaked style.

Alc: 13.5%

1 x The Landing Boathouse Bay of Islands Chardonnay 2019

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS & 4 STARS: Bob Campbell Master of Wine, Real Review

AWARDED 4.5 STARS: Winestate Magazine

"Elegant, youthful chardonnay with grapefruit, white peach, toast, root ginger, oyster-shell, mineral and spicy oak flavours. An appealing wine with a gentle texture and lengthy finish. Offers value at this price" Bob Campbell Master of Wine, Real Review

"Well worth cellaring, this vigorous wine was estate-grown, hand-picked and fermented and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques.  Bright, light lemon/green, with a fragrant, slightly biscuity bouquet, it is mouthfilling, with ripe stonefruit flavours, strong and vibrant, and good complexity" Winestate Magazine

The Boathouse Chardonnay like its namesake is a real crowd pleaser. Intriguing aromas of lemon citrus, toasted brioche and hints of butterscotch matched with light mineral freshness makes for a beautifully balanced Chardonnay. The lovely pithy texture in this wine will make it perfect for classic parings of crayfish, fresh grilled snapper and shellfish. You’ll find those served at The Boathouse most days too.

1 x Framingham Marlborough Chardonnay 2019

Awarded 94/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020

"It's gorgeously fruited and elegantly expressed on the nose showing apricot, nougat, roasted hazelnut and oatmeal characters. The palate is equally delightful and attractive, displaying excellent weight and expansive mouthfeel, leading to a lengthy creamy finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020

Mealy aromatics, subtle toasty notes with nectarine, hints of citrus and custard. A textured palate with good mouthfeel and harmony. Flavours of stone fruit, oatmeal, stone and vanilla bean yoghurt. Framingham Marlborough Chardonnay is a wine that relies on harmony between fruit and winemaking technique for its expression.

Food Pairing: All kinds of white meats, rich seafood, fish and chips.

Alc: 13%

1 x Kumeu Village Chardonnay 2019

Awarded 93/100 Points & 4 Stars: Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, May 2020

Awarded 93/100 Points: Tim Atkin, Master of Wine, Oct 2020

"This is the best Kumeu Village Chardonnay that I can recall tasting thanks to an excellent vintage and perhaps the Hawke’s Bay component. It’s an ethereal Chardonnay with appealing citrus, stone fruit and struck flint flavours. The wine has a pour-me-another-glass texture. Great value at this price" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, May 2020

"If Michael Brajkovich MW were a Burgundian rather than a New Zealander, he would be among the most celebrated white-wine makers in the Côte de Beaune, right up there with the likes of Dominique Lafon, Pierre-Vves Colin Morey and Jean-Marc Roulot. The good news for us is that we can buy his amazing Chardonnays at ludicrously cheap prices. This is only his entry-point wine, but is typically well balanced, refreshing and focused, with just a hint of oak spice, leesy complexity, undertones and a chiselled, refreshing finish. A Kiwi wine that’s better than many Puligny-Montrachets" Tim Atkin, Master of Wine, Oct 2020

The 2019 vintage was outstanding and has delivered a Village wine of greater complexity than usual. The weighty mid-palate shows peachy ripeness along with crisp acid minerality that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality.
