This Rosé has notes of poached pear, ripe stone fruit, hints of green strawberry and subtle spices. The palate is beautifully textured with a lingering fresh finish.

Along the length of their North and South Islands, the cool clear waters of the Pacific Ocean carve deep natural coves into the landscape. Intriguing for its unrivalled tranquillity, this spectacular eastern coastline of New Zealand is also renowned for its exceptional wines. In these beautiful, but harsh, conditions their vines struggle for survival, producing low yields of high quality fruit with concentrated flavours.

The parcels of fruit that created this Rosé were individually harvested at optimal ripeness. The fruit was destemmed and gently pressed. The clear juice underwent a long cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to capture and enhance the fruit flavours of pear, fig and stone fruit. Following fermentation, the wine was blended with a splash of Tempranillo to give the attractive pink hue. Once blended, the wine was stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.

They were incredibly lucky to be able to continue to create these wines during the global pandemic crisis. For this reason, their 2020 wines carry some very unique memories. The 2020 growing season was very dry, which meant disease pressure was low and some timely light rains kept just enough water flowing in their rivers. They had a classic Marlborough autumn with warm days and cool nights, which created this season’s wines with their signature fresh natural acidity and intense fruit flavours.
