Description

  • French oak
  • Dark plum
  • Cherry & pomegranate
  • Fine-grained tannins

"Fabulously fruited and pristine, the wine shows dark plum, sweet cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is supple and lingering. It is delightfully attractive and wonderfully composed with silky texture and fine-grained tannins, making it immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2019

"Very bright and fruity bouquet bursting with aromas of fresh cherry and pomegranate, raspberry and rose. a lifted whole berry scent of bubble-gum adds a fleshy fruity layer and youthful charm. Varietal, plump, fresh, fleshy and fruity on the palate. Firm youthful tannins and acidity contrast, but remind also that Pinot Noir does need time to settle, relax and start maturing – this wine is just beginning. Chalky tannins, medium+ acidity, vibrant and youthful with a fairly lengthy finish. Drink from 2020 through 2023" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2019

Ripe hand picked fruit, gentle winemaking and maturation in French oak have resulted in an attractive wine. A soft and subtle palate of red fruits and fine grained tannins with aromas of blackberries, plums and cinnamon. Showing good focus and length, this wine is excellent value, drinking fantastically well now and will also develop and cellar for several years.

Beetle Juice is named after the Cromwell Chafer Beetle (Prodontria lewisi). The Cromwell Chafer is a critically endangered beetle found at just one site in the world. This 81-hectare area near Wooing Tree Vineyard has been set aside as the Cromwell Chafer Beetle Nature Reserve to protect and monitor the habitat of this beetle.
