Beautifully fragrant red berry and floral aromas combine on a fresh, flavoursome and softly textured palate. Enjoyable in its youth and will continue to gain complexity with time.
Parcels of grapes were harvested and cold soaked at 10°C for 3-5 days for gentle extraction of flavour and aroma compounds. Batch fermentation at varying temperatures and extended maturation have added complexity, structure and a savoury element to the natural fruit purity of this wine. Aged in seasoned French barriques for 10 months then rested in tank another 6 months, bottled in August 2020.
This Pinot Noir is produced from premium vineyards in the Wairau and Awatere sub-regions. The unique climate and unwavering attention to detail consistently produce fruit of the highest quality. In 2019, Marlborough experienced a summer of the century, with a spell of long hot dry weather with moderately cool nights providing the perfect environment to ensure physiological and flavour ripeness whilst retaining freshness.
