"Varietally pure and elegantly fragrant with Nashi pear, rockmelon, floral and subtle oatmeal characters on the nose. The palate offers excellent weight and persistency, combined with creamy mouthfeel and well-pitched acidity, making it delectable and fabulously drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2021

Ripe and nicely perfumed on the nose displaying white peach, pear and floral characters. The palate is immediately attractive with fruit intensity, a touch of sweetness, and a pleasant long finish. It’s rounded, juicy and very tasty.

Premium grapes were first grown in Te Awanga at the beginning of last century. The warm coastal climate, gentle sea breezes and the shallow clay soils combine to produce award winning wines of great varietal flavour and finesse. Expert canopy management, including shoot thinning and leaf plucking, has ensured vine health, ideal flavours and clean, ripe fruit.

Following harvest, the grapes were gently pressed to provide soft, concentrated, flavoursome juice without picking up any bitter characters from the skins. A cool ferment in tank preserved fruit character and some time on lees has helped produce a wine that is fragrant and plush. A portion was also fermented and aged in older oak barriques to contribute to texture and complexity. The wine was then blended, lightly fined and filtered to bottle. Contains Sulphites. Traditional fining using milk, traces may remain.

Food Pairing: A wonderful accompaniment to Asian cuisine such as dim sum or Vietnamese bánh mi.
