Description

  • Dry style
  • Lime zest
  • Passionfruit
  • Subtle minerality

"This is stunning; the intensely aromatic bouquet shows passionfruit, feijoa, Granny Smith apple and lemon zest characters. It's equally impressive on the palate, delivering excellent fruit concentration and purity, wonderfully complemented by fine texture and bright acidity, finishing gorgeously long and delicious. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2020

"Bright, even throughout, pale yellow with a slightly green hue. The nose is fresh with intense aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries and lime melded with beautifully scented elderflower, green herbs and a soft dusting of white pepper. Medium-light bodied, the palate is lush with some weight, presenting elderflower, honeyed aromas along with ripened passionfruit, cassis and lime; unveiling subtle spices. The taste is fresh with a softness; oily texture integrated with a chalky mouthfeel. Acidity is the main drive and flows, with good energy to a lingering refreshing finish. This is a lively, dry white with intense aromas of classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with layers of interest and honeyed round edges. Match with shellfish and grilled fish over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from two vineyards in Dillon's Point, fermented in a combination of stainless steel, seasoned barriques and puncheons to 12.5%alc, 1.9g/l RS" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jun 2020

"The highly aromatic 2019 vintage was grown in the Dillons Point district and handled in a mix of stainless steel tanks and seasoned oak casks. Fresh and punchy, it is medium-bodied, with good intensity of tropical fruit and herbaceous flavours, a gentle oak influence adding complexity and a dry (1.9 grams/litre residual sugar), crisp finish" Buyer's Guide Edition 2020

"Vibrant, intense, varietal, fruity and distinctive bouquet. Aromas of red apple and fresh herb, pineapple and peach, fresh herbs and sweet hay. A touch of fruit spice and recognisable stony mineral layer. On the palate - equally vibrant and refreshing with sweet acidity, ripe fruit flavours, fresh herbs, lemon and white flowers. A lovely wine with a silky texture and core of fruit" Cameron Douglas, MS, Mar 2020

Light straw colour in the glass. Intense and complex aromas of lime zest, nettle and smokey cordite. Round and rich with notes of grapefruit, passionfruit and subtle minerality with a long finish. Drinking beautifully from release and will continue to develop complexity over the next three to five years.

This exceptional fruit was sourced from two carefully chosen vineyards in the Dillon's Point area of Marlborough. Historical flooding desposited nutrient rich silts, which in turn created fertile free draining soils abundant in micronutriends. These soils are ideal for the production of highly expressive, weighty Sauvignon Blanc. Hot days combined with cool evenings ensure these grapes ripen evenly whilst retaining vibrant, zesty fruit flavours.

The harvest was carefully timed and the grapes machine picked in the cool of the evening at peak flavour maturity. The grapes were transported promtly to the winery where they were immediately de-stemmed and pressed to minimize skin contact. After settling, the racked juice was inoculated with a specially selected yeast strain and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak barriques and puncheons.

Food Pairing: An ideal match with Marlborough's Green Lip mussels, seared paua or a delicate goat's cheese salad.
