Pale, dry and delicious, this wine is made in very limited quantities each year. The nose is full of floral notes and culinary herbs with some underlying sweet berry flavours. The palate is dry in terms of sweetness, however still luscious and mouthfilling with a refreshingly crisp finish.
The Te Awa Vineyard is located on the old river bed of the Ngaruroro River which was left exposed after the river changed course in the 1860s. The Te Awa Single Estate Rosé is sourced from a single block of Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1994. These vines produce small yields of intensively flavoured fruit.
The grapes for this wine are harvested when tasting perfect for making Rosé, then the juice pressed off as quickly as possible to minimise colour pick up. Fermentation occurs in a mix of stainless steel tank and seasoned oak barrels using a neutral yeast to allow the natural flavours of the grape shine.
Food Pairing: Delicious on its own, Rosé is also one of the most versatile wines in the world for pairing with food.
