Description
- Strawberry & Cherry
- Florals
- Energetic
- Fruity finish
This Gold Medal Bordeaux blend is a bright ruby colour in the glass with a nose that is fresh and finessed, with hints of strawberry and cherries, flowers, spices and leaves that are pleasantly restrained in such a young wine. Its youth shows on the palate, which appears energetic and firm, with pleasant fruit flavours over a tannic structure that is still marked. This will soften and blend in a year or so to make for a classically seductive ensemble.
This blended Bordeaux (60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) is all planted on clay/limestone soils.
If you normally consider clarets to be too austere, this wine will convert you. Ripe and fruit forward, it’s a very moreish Bordeaux from the family property of top viticulturer Jean-Marc Jolivet, brimming with creamy plum and cassis fruit.
Food Pairing: Delicious with beef bourguignon or seared venison steak.

Not as balanced as the reviews have posited. There are other wines which are better value of money.
