Description

  • Dessert style
  • Ripe stone fruit
  • Spring blossom
  • Zesty acidity

"A gorgeously matured Riesling, the complex bouquet shows golden peach, baked apple, fig and honey characters, leading to a succulent palate that's flavoursome and lingering. The wine offers gentle sweetness backed by refreshing acidity, finishing long and delectable. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2020

Pale Straw colour, with developing golden hues. Slight hints of green in the correct light. The nose has pure varietal Riesling characters with Spring blossoms, succulent Summer peaches fresh of the tree and citrus notes. The wine has good entry to the palate with luscious concentration and ripe stonefruit elements. It is succulent and mouthfilling with natural residual sweetness which is well balanced against zesty acidity that runs the length of the palate.

Food Pairing: Glacier Wine is a concentrated intense wine best served chilled. It is typically served before the meal or as a compliment to a special dessert. This is changing and is now being served with the entrees and mains course. Consideration should be given when combining with different foods. Some sweeter desserts may detract from the experience, so it should not be paired with a food that is sweeter that the wines itself. What makes a great Glacier Wine is the sweetness offset by the balanced acidity achieved by the wine maker. This crucial element not only adds to the enjoyment of Glacier Wine but make it an ideal a compliment to cheese. The cheeses richness pairs brilliantly with the Glacier Wine as it adds that crucial acidity. The honeyed sweetness of the Glacier Wine and the flavoursome cheese creates a lovely balance that makes for a perfect match.
