Ripe apple and stonefruit characters burst from the glass and the same are seen with the flavours on the palate. This wine is easy to enjoy – fresh, juicy and more-ish.
This wine is made from grapes from several of vineyards in the Wairau Valley. Winemakers work hard to ensure crops are kept at a moderate level including leaf-plucking the vines to ensure the fruit has good exposure to the sun. The grapes were picked quite early in the season to retain the fresh fruit characters and bright acidity.
The winemaking here is simple. The winemakers goal is to capture the delicious flavours they see in the grapes and translate them into the bottle. This is done by fermenting the juice in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures with specially selected yeast. The wine is then left to rest on lees for several months before bottling at the winery.
Food Pairing: Delicious just to enjoy on its own, or with soft cheeses, creamy pasta, chicken, coconut curries, pork dishes or any other light to medium flavoured foods.
