Description

Black Estate wines farm organically & biodynamically to work with nature, not against it. This enables them to create healthy land and vines, producing fruit with quality and flavour that expresses it’s unique environment.

These wines are a fantastic expression of Black Estate's winemaking philosophy, and a delicious accompaniment to a variety of dining occasions with their complex and pure characteristics.

Collection includes:

2 x Black Estate Damsteep Waipara Riesling 2019

This dry Riesling has fresh and complex aromas of lime, orange blossom, and wild honey. The palate is dense and grounded, becoming full with time and once again has salivating white rock minerals. Vibrant long and electric. This wine is un-fined and unfiltered so a fine sediment may form in the bottle. Decanting could be considered. Drink now to 2028.

Alc: 13%

2 x Black Estate Home Waipara Pinot Noir 2017

Fire brick hue. Compelling fresh and vibrant aromas of wild forest berry’s, wild rose petal, and humid earth. Dense mouth coating tannins that are tightly wound and gradually melt to reveal rich berry fruits, red current , and humus. The balance gives a clear impression of the highly mineralised sedimentary clay soils of the Home Vineyard. Drink now to 2028.

Alc: 12%

2 x Black Estate Damsteep Waipara Pinot Noir 2017

Awarded 95/100 Points & 5 STARS: Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Oct 2019

"Richer, riper and slightly more intense than its sister label from the Home vineyard. Plum, dark cherry, red rose petal, with spicy oak and slightly salty-mineral flavours. A firmly-structured wine with a dusting of drying tannins. Impressive wine with potential" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Oct 2019

Pale ruby hue. Deep aromas of wild raspberry, sandalwood and fertile earth. Flavours of silken and dense dark fruits, graphite, and dark coco powder. Supple but dense mid pallet tannins that are carried with bright and pure minerality. Typical white rock tension creates a long and persistent finish. Drink now to 2026.
