Château Puy de Guirande is owned by the Nazelli family.  Frederic Nazelli returned from military service in 1984 and decided to take his my parents’ estate in Marcillac. He gradually expanded and restructured the vineyard, which now covers 22.5 hectares, producing silky Merlot dominate clarets that consistently win awards in global wine competitions.

A classic Bordeaux blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.  Château Puy de Guirande is choke full of classic blackcurrant and plummy fruit.  Soft and smooth, great current drinking but will keep for another 5-7 years.

Made from 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 20% Carignan and 10% Grenache. (The Grenache is from 30+ year old vines). This lovely southern French red has a delicate, elegant nose with red fruit aromas. Notes of blackberry, chocolate and liquorice on the palate. Soft, harmonious and well-balanced. Oodles of drinkability.

Smoky, blackberry and herbal-scented Syrah from old rugged vineyards. This is a great example of drink now Syrah from the South of France.

The Château’s history goes back to the Middle Ages, but vines and wine have always been part of the estate. The estate first belonged to the monks of the region’s most important abbeys, before passing into the hands of the d’Esparbès de Lussan family, who were part of the political establishment of the nearby town of Blaye.

A lovely blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Syrah. Generously fruited, the wine shows lifted aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant, warm spice and nutmeg on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is plump and smooth.

Have only tried the Vignoble De La Ramiere but what a lovely drop. It was smooth and paired beautifully with steak, fried onion and coucous.
