Description

  • Integrated oak
  • Vanilla & spice notes
  • Ripe & juicy fruit
  • Long silky finish

"Varietally pure and expressive, the gorgeously perfumed bouquet shows sweet raspberry, cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas, followed by a beautifully rounded palate that's juicy and lingering. It's bright and refreshing with a lengthy silky finish. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2020

"Medium-intense ruby to the rim colour. Fresh raspberries, cinnamon and aniseed aromas. Dark berries flow well across the palate with even flow and good drive. Nice interplay between acid freshness and tannic structure. Into the finish, more savoury characters appear with smoked paprika and dry earth adding interest" Stuart Knox, Real Review, Oct 2020

The Litte Giant Grenache just goes from strength to strength. A wine that is both mouth-filling yet medium weight with ripe fruited intensity. Vital red and dark berry fruit underpineed by hints of chocolate and integrated oak. The palate delivers tight-knit tannins and delivers a lasting flavour of berries, vanilla and fresh spice flavours.

2019 was a stand out for the region. The growing season started dry and continued that way, it was in fact one of the driest on record so understandably yields were down but the quality was excellent. The reds from the season show intense dark colours, generous flavours, solid tannins and great concentration. 2019 will be a vintage to enjoy now or cellar in the medium to long term.

Little Giant Grenache was crafted from a combination of older and younger vine Grenache vineyards within Seaview and Willunga. Small 3-5 tonne batches of high quality hand-picked fruit were fermented separately in open top fermenters. Minimal daily plunging ensued to gently build colour and the tannin profile without over extraction before being transferred partially to older oak and the remainder to stainless steel tank for maturation prior to blending and bottling.

The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and perservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don't let the size fool you, these are wines you'll want to drink.

Food Pairing: Perfect with barbecued chicken and Moroccan style cous cous.
