  • White peach
  • Passionfruit & guava
  • Elegant acidity

"The wine offers beautifully lifted aromas of white flesh nectarine, green rockmelon, sweet basil and lime peel on the nose, followed by a lively palate that’s succulent and lingering. It’s up front and very appealing with plenty of vibrant fruit flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2020

This wine has layers of powerful flavours, with intense blackcurrant, passionfruit and guava, with hints of white peach and boxwood. The palate has a refreshing but elegant acidity, with full and rich palate from concentrated fruit weight and an appealing salty minerality that leads through to a long finish.

Lowlands 2019 is an estate grown wine from a single vineyard block from the Holdaway family’s Dillons Point vineyard. The Holdaway family has nearly 40 years’ grape growing experience in the Dillons Point and Lower Wairau areas of Marlborough, New Zealand. As always, this wine is from the Lowlands Vineyard in Dillons Point. Wine from Dillons Point has become known for it unique and distinct flavours which this wine displays.

The 2019 vintage was an outstanding one for Marlborough. We had a cooler period through flowering, which naturally lowered crop levels. A warm and dry summer gave us perfect ripening conditions, resulting in clean fruit with excellent flavour concentration. This year it is from an unirrigated block (FA) This block has difficult tight clay soils that have greatly benefited from compost applications and targeted nutrition over recent years.
