"It's wonderfully fruited and intensely aromatic on the nose showing passionfruit, feijoa, kiwifruit and kaffir lime characters. The palate delivers excellent weight and power, together with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing lingering and delicious. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019

Generous with excellent weight and concentrated flavours of passionfruit and fresh grapefruit with a lingering finishing, bright acidity and fine texture.

The Thirty One Rows vineyard is as rich in fertile soil as it is in history, located on an old alluvial gold-mining route in the Onamalutu Valley, home to a significant gold rush in 1894. Now known as the emerging wine subregion of Northbank in Marlborough, Thirty One Rows is the number of rows of each ultra-low yielding and organically farmed, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The fruit was hand harvested (1st vintage from this vineyard) and gently pressed off, settled and then fermented at cool temperatures in a single stainless-steel tank using a selected yeast strain most suited to the distinctive aromatics of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The cool ferment allows the resulting wine to retain varietal characters and freshness. The wine then sits on its fine lees allowed to age for 8 months prior to bottling which develops mid-palate weight adding to the wine’s intense fruit characters.
