Description

  • Citrus
  • Lime
  • Passionfruit
  • Crisp minerality

This wine has typically lifted Marlborough aromatics that match with a palate that has finesse and texture. Lovely ripe passionfruit aromas are complemented with green grass and lime notes, while the palate is light and fresh with delicious citrus notes and a chalky, crisp finish. Delicious now but will continue to develop in bottle, highlighting the minerality of this wine. Enjoy over the next couple of years.

2019 was a stunning year in the vineyard with a warm, dry Summer and slightly lower crops that produced juicy and ripe Sauvignon Blanc with aromatics and intense flavour. Three quarters from the Wairau and the remainder from our Awatere vineyard with each block contributing its own characters. Combined, these provide a wonderful array of flavours.

Each block was picked when they were considered to have maximum passionfruit characters and while the acidity was still bright and crisp. The grapes were gently pressed before the majority of juice was cool-fermented in stainless tank with selected yeast. 7% was fermented in old French barriques with wild yeast, to add further complexity.

Food Pairing: Seafood, shellfish, salads, feta, goat cheese, fresh herbs, Vietnamese-style dishes, garlic prawns, light Thai dishes.
