Description

  • Cherry
  • Ripe red berries
  • Wood spice
  • Firm tannins

"No mistaking the aromas of red apple and fresh red cherry, a mix of wood spice and stony mineral moments. Fresh and floral, varietal and youthful. On the palate - fresh, fruity, crunchy textured and dry. Flavours of light red fruits dominate followed by roses and stone then wood spices. Tannins are firm and youthful with a fine texture accentuated by the acidity, buffered by the fruit core and adding to the finish which is fresh and quite lengthy. Well made, ready to enjoy with or without food. Best drinking from today and through 2023" Cameron Douglas MS, Apr 2020

This delicious, feminine Pinot Noir exudes lifted aromas of cherry and ripe red berry fruits. The palate shows a lighter touch, yet is juicy and complete, finishing with firm tannins that sit in wonderful harmony with the fruit and acidity.

‘Offspring’ in Maori, Momo reflects its heritage as part of the Seresin family. A vibrant range of wines, fermented naturally with wild yeasts. The wines are true to variety and reflect the essence of their fruit characters.

2018 will be remembered as being rather unusual for Marlborough, with a run of wet conditions following a period of warm weather. Fortunately, these vineyards all fared well, with low yields and careful management ensuring a large proportion was harvested by the end of March. Above all, this vintage will be remembered for its fast and furious nature – blink and you nearly missed it! However, the resulting wines are showing a great deal of poise, elegance and subtlety. It is exciting to nurture them into the bottle and bring them to market.

Certified organic grapes were harvested by machine, then destemmed and fermented in small open top fermenters with a selected yeast - Rubino. The caps were plunged and pumped over, twice daily. After a period of 23 days, the batches were pressed off into a variety of small stainless steel vessels and neutral oak barrels to age. The wine went through malolactic fermentation naturally, and aged in the cellar for 10 months before it was blended and filtered prior to bottling.

Derived from 100% certified organic fruit from two sites – our Raupo Vineyard in the Omaka Valley and Noa Vineyard at the Western end of the Wairau Valley.

Food Pairing: Pairs fabulously with a wide selection of delicious cheeses.
