Description

  • Ripe red berries
  • Liquorice
  • Toasted oak
  • Cacao seeds

A captivating dark cherry colour with a brilliant violet rim in the glass. Lively aromas of strawberries and blackberries on the nose which gently grow in complexity to a more mineral, fruity bouquet that will throw you straight back to the vineyard. On the palate, soft liquorice wrapped in delicate hints of toasted American oak blend with pure cacao seeds. For a young wine, this Tempranillo presents an unexpected maturity. It has a seductive, velvety entrance in the mouth that gives way to a harmonious combination of lush fruits and more earthy tones. An expressive, rounded wine that leaves a pleasant and exciting aftertaste.

The wine went through a cold pre-fermentation, then a temperature controlled stainless steel fermentation with indigenous yeast before being aged for two months in new 500L American oak.

A limy and sandy soil rich in minerals, scarce precipitations that do not exceed 300 litres per year, 90% sunshine rate and low yields of no more than 5.300 kg per hectare are the characteristics that provide our wines with their earthy character, full-bodied and with suggestive aromas.

Food Pairing: Try with Spanish lamb with sherry, honey & peppers or a roast leg of lamb with basil & mint pesto.

I thought this was a good wine, still with some tannin but that should reduce is given time as it is under cork. Excellent value for a Temperanillo compared with others available.
