This Reserve Pinot Rosé has a lovely, bright, pink colour with lifted aromas of strawberries and cream with fresh summer berries, yellow stone fruit and fresh ginger spice. Easy drinking and ready for summer. Enjoy slightly chilled.
The 2019 Marlborough growing season had a slow start with below average temperatures and higher rainfall resuting in cooler ground temperatures. Strong, even growth followed in the lead up to flowering and adverse weather events saw a mixed fruit set impacting yields. Extended hot and dry weather resulted in advanced ripening and an earlier start to harvest, with decisions made on flavour. Their Reserve Rosé wine is made from the finest parcels of fruit from their 2019 harvest and are characterised by the rich, berry flavours and lovely palate weight found in the best examples of Marlborough Rosé sourced from the Awatere, Redwood Pass and Wairau Valleys of Marlborough.
Once harvested certain parcels of fruit were allowed extended skin contact for 12 hours before being gently pressed. The juice was fined, settled and racked clean for fermentation at cooler temperatures to capture vibrant fruit flavours.
