Description

  • Oaked
  • Ripe black fruit
  • Cherry
  • Chocolate & liquorice

This irresistibly juicy red comes from Lisbon’s renowned Casa Santos Lima and Portugal’s ‘Best Young Winemaker 2016’, Diogo Sepúlveda. Having also worked in Pomerol and in the Barossa with heirloom Shiraz vines, his credentials for making this rich, old vine Portuguese red are second to none. Fans of smooth, mouthfilling wines take note – a delicious blend of Portuguese grapes (Castelão , Tinta Roriz , Syrah , Touriga Franca) with ripe plum and blackcurrant aromas. In the mouth it shows ripe black fruits and cherry notes. Chocolate and liquorice flavours, given by ageing in oak barrique, dominate a long and smooth aftertaste.

Wine Spectator calls Portugal “the most exciting wine place on the planet”, with its terrific range of native grape varieties and wines that always offer standout value. The rich, mouthfilling, smooth as silk  Lisbonita fits firmly in that category! Another exciting find from Portugal exclusive to Black Market.

Really enjoying this wine. I can see why it’s done so well with triple gold and exceptional value. Would definitely like to purchase again if you get more stock.

You're right: Portugese wines are really good. This is no exception. Reminiscent of a recent month in Portugal. Every local wine we tried was great.

Very true Portuguese, - distinctively dense, vivid and spicy; a pleasure to share with friends around BBQ. Definitely will buy another lot.

Delicious! Disappointed it's now out of stock as would have ordered more.

A very pleasant wine. Not fruit driven, but earthy and smooth.
