A supple spicy Syrah, this wine has aromas of violet and pepper, and rich flavours of blueberry and plum with a dusting of cocoa. This is followed by fine youthful tannins and a fresh finish.
This is the first bottling of this Mystery Syrah. The fruit for this wine is sourced from mature vines in Hawke’s Bay, where optimal growing conditions ensure high quality yields.
A combination of plunging and pumping-over was used to ensure maximum flavour and colour extraction from the skins. This in combination with an extended maceration period ensured intense flavouring and colour. This wine was aged in old French Oak for 12 months, before the final blend was assembled. No finings were added to this wine prior to bottling.

This is the 3/4th time we have purchased this full bodied Shiraz which is perfect for winter drinking. It goes especially well with slowly cooked dishes such as beef cheeks or lamb shanks with polenta:))

Made by good winemaker. Colour is medium. Carnation like florals on the nose and you can taste them on the palate. Almost like pinot in weight but more european in style with moderate length an a slightly bitter, drying, savoury finish. well improve with cellaring and lose its bitterness. If drinking now decant vigorously to open the wine up.
