"It is youthfully bright and attractively fruited on the nose showing raspberry, cherry, dried herb and subtle spice notes. The palate is juicy and nicely rounded with smooth mouthfeel and fine tannins, finishing silky and fruity. A lovely easy-going pinot for everyday drinking. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019
"In short, at its price point, it’s a winner. It’s sappy, a little spicy, and red fruited. Light to medium-bodied, gentle sweetness with sappy Pinot flavour, light rasp of tannin, fresh and easy going, and while the finish is not really there, it’s clean, fun and easy to drink. I like it" Gary Walsh, Wine Front
This wine displays black cherry, strawberry, liquorice and brown spice characters that are medium to light in feel but energetic and long in flavour. Soft integrated tannins provide breadth whilst a bright acidity drives the fresh finish.
Sourced from established vineyards of the rich soils of the border of Victoria and South Australia. The vines are mostly dry-grown and utilise expert canopy management to help to control ripening and vigour
This was a challenging year and so very much makes you think of Australia. It was a hot vintage with only sporadic rains in some parts causing the berries to ripen sooner than prior years. Through great management the resultant fruit is bright and flavourful with a soft acidity. Lucky for us this would be a drink up vintage rather than hold for cellaring. Enjoy in its youth.
Harvested in the cool of the morning to avoid the warmer temperatures of the day. The fruit is quickly delivered to the winery for destemming and crushing prior to a regular fermentation in stainless steel tank. The wine is aerated and temp controlled for an even ferment and then spends 3 months in tank on solids prior to bottling and an early release.
