Description

  • Medium-dry style
  • Fresh apple & pear
  • Orange zest
  • Biscotti

"Gorgeously fruited and inviting, the delightfully expressed bouquet shows apricot, peach, poached pear and subtle spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that’s wonderfully weighted and mouthfilling. It’s concentrated, yet elegant and refined, with a lingering silky finish" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019

"Medium-dry pinot gris with classic apple, ginger and pear plus a subtle seasoning of spice. A smooth-textured wine with fine, peppery tannins on the finish" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Nov 2019

Fragrant with fresh apple and pear, nectarine, melon, marzipan, orange blossom, orange zest and a hint of bran. A creamy entry with peach, melon, nectarine, cooked pear, biscotti, spice and citrus zest. A mouth filling mid palate with lovely fruit sweetness, a refreshing minerality and a pleasing stone fruit finish.

Three Miners Vineyard is situated in Earnscleugh Valley half way between Alexandra and Clyde. The soil type is shallow Molyneux sandy loam with some stony sand. The vineyard was established in 2000 by Jeff Price and Julie Mitchell when they planted 4 ha of Pinot Noir. In 2002, another 9 ha of Pinot Noir vines were planted and in 2003, Julie and Jeff planted 2 ha of Pinot Gris and 1 ha each of Riesling and Gewürztraminer. The last plantings were in 2007 and 2009 which added another hectare of Pinot Gris.
