Description

"Toasty, savoury, fruity and integrated bouquet of Pinot with aromas of red berries, brown spices and dry stone minerality. A dry wine, with a core of red berry fruit and savoury earthy flavours. No mistaking the acidity and bite of tannins with a fresh tart fruit finish. A wine that needs some more time to settle and harmonise its various attributes" Cuisine Magazine, 2019

"Seductively fragrant, the bouquet shows dried cherry, ripe strawberry, vanilla, truffle and hazelnut characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and polished tannins together with elegant savoury nuances, making it fabulously drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2019

A bright burgundy coloured Pinot Noir in the glass, featuring elegant aromatics of dark forest fruits and vanilla on the nose. Ripe black cherry, sweet raspberry and liquorice occupy the palate, with a slightly dried hay finish and fine grained oak tannins.

Sourced exclusively from the winemakers Eyrie Vineyard in the lower Waihopai Valley. Fermented in open top vats and hand plunged, the wine was pressed and racked into barrels for 11 months maturation.
