  • Fresh red berries
  • Crisp apple
  • Citrus zest
  • Dry style & vibrant minerality

"The fresh, vivacious 2019 vintage is a blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Bright, light pink, it has strong, yet delicate, flavours of peaches, strawberries and watermelon, and a slightly sweet crisp finish" Michael Cooper, Dec 2019

"Charming and delightfully expressed, the wine shows Gala apple, lemon peel, nectarine and floral characters with a hint of sweet strawberry. It is juicy and finely textured on the palate with lovely youthful flavours, finishing long and refreshing" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019

A delicate salmon pink, with fragrant aromas of strawberries, redcurrants & cranberry. On the palate it is dry and finely textured, with fresh and vibrant minerality. The influence of the Pinot Noir ensures the wine remains fleshy and supple, while the two Cabernets contribute aroma and structure.

Unsettled weather over flowering resulted in a lighter than average set, meaning that no further fruit thinning was necessary. A classic North Canterbury summer then enabled this smaller crop to mature beautifully. Accelerated ripening allowed harvest to take place slightly earlier than usual, and favourable autumn weather ensured the grapes were picked in perfect condition.

Carefully selected grapes from an assemblage of complementary varieties including Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc were harvested to make this wine. The free run juice was given a small amount of skin contact to add some colour. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats at a cool temperature to retain varietal purity and freshness, with the wine being bottled shortly after.

Food Pairing: Complements a strawberry salad with pastrami & salted pistachios.
