Description
- Kaffire lime
- Fragrant spice
- Bright acidity
- Subtle sweetness
"A stunning expression of the variety; the elegantly perfumed bouquet shows orange peel, kaffir lime, Gala apple and fragrant spice aromas, leading to a brilliantly focused palate that's concentrated and linear. The wine offers subtle sweetness which is wonderfully countered by bright acidity, making the wine splendidly balanced with waves of delicious flavours" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020
Aromatics are reminiscent of mandarin, with hints of Belgian beer in the young wine, gin and tonic, stonefruit and suggestions of smoke and rock. Vibrant, intense focused palate with orange, Meyer lemon, and stone fruit flavours and a good line of juicy acidity. Framingham Classic Riesling is generous, mouth-filling wine (Spältese halbtrocken in style) with ripe orange citrus flavours and juicy acidity.
Fruit for this wine comes from all three sections on the Estate. Each parcel was hand picked and bunch pressed. Juices were predominantely fermented in stainless steel; though approximately 7% of the blend was fermented on skins over a two week period, followed by aging in wood. All components were aged on full ferment lees for around three months.
Food Pairing: All kinds of pork dishes, other white meats and seafood, or as an aperitif!
